#TARIL — Deep Research Report
NSE: TARIL | Price: ~₹320 | Market Cap: ~₹9,600 Cr
1. Business Model
TARIL manufactures Power, Furnace, and Rectifier Transformers on a pure B2B model, serving power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial sectors. Simply put — they make the giant electrical boxes that move electricity across India. Clients include Power Grid, state utilities, railways, and renewable energy players. FY26 revenue was ₹2,395 Cr, up 23% YoY, with PAT of ₹225 Cr, up 20% YoY.
2. Moat & Competition
Top 3 rivals: Hitachi Energy India, ABB India, Voltamp Transformers. TARIL ranks among the top 5 private transformer makers in India with strong export presence in Africa, Middle East, and CIS countries. Its edge is high-voltage specialization up to 1,200 kV and growing backward integration — few Indian players can match this technically.
3. Catalysts
Unexecuted order book stands at ₹5,005 Cr with an inquiry pipeline exceeding ₹23,000 Cr — nearly 10x annual revenue in pipeline. Green hydrogen, solar transformers, and export markets are emerging growth drivers.
4. Asymmetry Check
Stock fell from ₹650 to ₹224 due to profit-taking after a 222% rally — fundamentals remain intact, this is a valuation reset, not business deterioration. Earnings forecast to grow 22.6% per annum, faster than the broader Indian market. Strong risk-reward at current levels.
5. Future Outlook
Backed by India’s power transmission push and ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision, TARIL is well-positioned to deliver consistent growth. A steady compounder — not a moonshot, but a quality play on India’s infrastructure supercycle.
